Thu Oct 22 2020

Korean media has reported that the KBS archive project "Documentary: Gag-Women" has been invited to the overseas film festival, Korean Film Festival Canada. "Documentary: Gag-Women" is a candid discussion with six comedians—Lee Seong-mi, Song Eun-yi, Kim Sook, Kim Na-rae, Kim Ji-min, and Oh Na-mi—about their past of having to sleep in the KBS warehouse, surviving the 20th century and leading the 21st century. The documentary also includes Kim Sang-mi, KBS entertainment producer and director of gag concerts, presenting 40 years of women on the comedy stage. You can watch the documentary about Korean gag women online at the Korean Film Festival Canada beginning October 29.

The Korean Film Festival Canada is situated on the traditional territory of both the Kanien’kehá:ka, (Mohawk,) and the Anishinabeg, (Algonquin,) peoples. This land was historically known as a diplomatic meeting place for First Nations peoples. We acknowledge that this land we are on has been part of the life of humans and nature unceasingly. We appreciate the continual history of Montreal where our diverse-artistic actions are proudly part of this flux.
